Murnau is famous for its historic buildings and castles, such as Murnau Castle, which dates from the 13th century. Today the castle is home to a museum covering the history, the story of the people, and the art of Murnau. The Kultur- und Tagungszentrum (Culture and Conference Centre) is right next door to the hotel.
