The hotel comprises 11 modern single and double rooms. The tastefully furnished rooms offer a high degree of comfort so that you can perfectly relax during your stay in Murnau. All rooms have a TV, free Wi-Fi, and a separate en-suite bathroom. Single rooms are about 18-22m² (190-240ft²) and double rooms about 30 m² (320ft²). We optionally offer south-facing balconies, an eating area, and a kitchenette. A double bed can be added to the double rooms. We have barrier-free rooms on the ground level for guests who use a wheelchair.
The Deluxe Holiday Apartment covers a floor area of 90m² (970ft²). Large roof windows, open beams, and two balconies provide lots of light and a friendly atmosphere. Offering additional space and 2 separate bedrooms, our holiday apartment is the perfect place to spend a great holiday with the entire family. The spacious living room offers comfortable seating and a kitchen area for you to prepare your own food and beverages. The bathroom includes a wellness shower and a whirlpool bathtub. Murnau am Staffelsee is located in an area with many natural monuments and places of historic significance. No other area of Germany offers this many excellently preserved old baroque monasteries, famous churches of different historic times, as well as absolutely beautiful lakes and rivers. Explore the south of Upper Bavaria and visit important historic buildings, such as Neuschwanstein Castle, quaint Bavarian villages, such as Ettal, and famous cities like Weilheim and Munich.
The wonderful Staffelsee and the surrounding towns and villages are known as the Blue Land. With the lovely panorama of the Wetterstein Mountains and the Ammergau Alps in the background, the Blue Land has always been a popular destination for visitors from all over the world.
The peat bog of Murnau is one of Europe’s largest bogs and will impress you with its pristine beauty. The Murnauer Moos is a popular breeding area for many rare birds and it offers some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the region.
The Zugspitze and the popular winter sport region Garmisch-Patenkirchen are located only 30 km from Murnau and offer excellent winter sport conditions from Novmber to April. In the summer, you can go hiking and mountain biking in the Alps.
The first strongholds to later become the Murnau Castle that we know today date back to the first half of the 13th century. After the reconstruction, the castle was reopened in 1991 as a museum on the subject of Murnau’s history, traditions, and art.
The „Murnauer Zeit“ is a well-known term among art enthusiasts and scholars. This period was strongly influenced by the artists Münter, Kandinsky, Von Werefkin, and Jawlensky, who lived and worked in Murnau at the time. Some of their work can be found in the museum of the Münter-Haus.
The parish church St. Nikolaus was built between 1717 and 1732. It is a typical late-baroque building. It is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful churches in the area known as the Blue Land. Especially the quality of the ornaments and and decorations of the church is extraordinary.
